Back in 1998/99 a few friends and myself started a little skate mag called Advantage Magazine. I worked with some talented people who’ve gone on to produce some heavy work in the art and design worlds, namely Billy Coker and Rob White. We worked pretty hard to get it off the ground but only managed to get one issue out. Looking back, I’m honestly pretty proud that we even did that. Perhaps we should have started smaller but we went for it. Full color, decent paper, etc. Damn that was fun. Got to do some interviews. Got to learn how to write a bit. Took a couple trips. Good times.
An old friend posted a picture of our product review page today on Facebook. Man, took me back. Pretty hilarious.
Anyway, one of the featured models (the Mexican with long hair and shorts) is our very own Gimmar Tinec. Too funny.
